I'm Thankful for Second Chances

A few weeks ago I was reading on my sister Julie's blog about other blogs she has found where parents have lost their little ones. I decided to read about little Ava Rosemeyer, it was so sad to read, but I really was reminded how precious every moment with our little children are. That night I had a nightmare about my little Easton. I dreamed he touched poisened playdough (crazy, I know) but he died and I felt those emotions so strongly. I was so angry, and I wanted just to hold him one more time, and I wanted to start the day over and have another chance. I was so relieved to wake up and know that I still had both my children to hold and let play in Jello Pudding and not worry about the mess.
A couple nights ago, we were blessed to have a second chance. It was my first experience with a child in the Emergency Room. Ive always been so afraid for this moment, and I hope to never have one like it again. I was at Enrichment and Brian had the kids. He was giving them a bath, and Easton went under the water. He took a big gulp of water, Brian saw him, and pulled him out. He threw up a ton of water, but couldnt breathe very well. After 10 missed calls, they finally got a hold of me, and I met Brian at the ER. Easton's oxygen was really low. They said we were lucky Brian brought him in. We had just heard a story about a boy who dry drowned...where he died after swimming because he had too much water in his lungs and not enough oxygen. I think that helped Brian realize the seriousness of this near-drowning episode. We were there for a while that night, they kept him hooked up to monitors and gave him oxygen to make sure he was going to keep getting better. Xrays showed the lungs looked okay. The doctor explained to us that a lot of times in near-drowning patients you think they are okay and then they'll get worse. So, I hope all you mothers and fathers out there learn something from my experience.....even going under water once can take away your whole life.
I am so thankful Brian was there......that he saved Easton, and that he knew to take him to the hospital. And I'm so thankful Easton was strong enough to get better. I'm so thankful to have a second chance at Easton's life. I'm so thankful!

I love Park City

My family went to Park City this last week, and we stayed in our condos at the Marriott Mountainside. I just absolutely love it. The trees were already turning fall colors, and it was so cool and it just smells like fall to me! It was great being with my sisters (even though we did have a sister fight like we've never had before--don't worry we're all still bestest friends) and my parents---thanks MOM AND DAD for such a fun week! My dad took the son-in-laws golfing a couple times and then my mom and dad took us girls shopping! We went on walks, played Dr. Mario--(thanks Brad for the Xbox and Ju--it was fun! you too Jade, and Jill wish you were there to play too) went hot-tubbing (my fave) and of course got Caramel apples at the chocolate factory, and we also went on the alpine slide and coaster! We also got family pictures too, it's a tradition every two years we get them taken in Park City. I really was too busy to even think about taking pictures, but these are a few memorable moments from the trip!
Okay Pause.... This really is so sad--looking at my picture inventory for the week, I only have pics of my kids eating Dorritos because I clued in that I had my camera and needed to use it, and then I also brought it with me to family picture night when someone was already there paid and ready to take our pics for us---HELLO JAMIE....oh well, they are still fun to see I guess!!!

Camping in Pine Valley

So me and Brian like to be SPONTANEOUS. It's sort of like a competition, who can be it more. We especially like to be spontaneous campers......we usually get there when it's dark and stay 1 night! It's so fun though, but we always wish we would plan it more, so we can stay longer!!! Here we are in Pine Valley Utah (close to St. George) over Labor Day! I LOVE THE MOUNTAINS!!!!!!

We of course had S'mores, went to sleep, almost got attacked by bears (or the wind-whatever), woke up had breakfast, explored dangerous spontaneous paths, played in the waterfalls, went on long walks, 4 wheeled (in our car and got mad at Brian), and thats pretty much it, it was great!

My cute little sweetheart, growing up fast. She was so excited for her first day at Barefoot Preschool. One day a week they have a gym day, and she loves it! It's so weird to not know what goes on in her life for those 3 hours 3 days a week she's gone............

LOVING UTAH

We have been extremely busy trying to get settled, which feels like will never come.....and TOTALLY ENJOYING being by family! Ais and Easton can't get enough. We have been jam-packed with family outings, enjoying the summer, and trying to squeeze everything we possibly can into our schedules!
This week we are heading up to Salt Lake for Stadium of Fire, then Bear Lake, and then Flaming Gorge.......so I thought I'd leave a little update on my blog....it could be another month before I write ANYTHING!
I miss all my PA friends so much! Change is hard, but I seriously believe Family Wards are forever!!!!

So, we are here, in St George. We've been so super busy with our jobs and kids and family, I haven't had a second to post anything on my blog! Seriously, this is such a beautiful place. We live in Ivins and we are surrounded by mountains. And where on Earth can you go and see bright red rock, lava rock, and mountains with snow all at the same time????
I miss our friends/family in PA, but it's good to be home!

Just doing all the fun stuff like, changing a billion address forms online, getting new insurances, enrolling in new schools, trying to make new friends, and planning lots of get togethers with the fan-damly!
