My "Honest Blogger" Proposal

So, talking with my fave neighbor and friend recently, and also having similar conversations with my sisters and friends.....it is VERY easy to feel depressed when reading everyone's blogs. Don't get me wrong....I LOVE to read everyone's blogs. I LOVE reading what my friends are up to, see cute pictures of their kids, and read all about there latest trip, new car, new house, new furniture, and see how cute their new clothes are. But sometimes I find myself taking an inventory of my life after and realizing everything I don't have that I want. And why are there kids so perfect...what's wrong with my screaming little rascals??? Is it me....or do we all just put our perfect blog worthy moments up....I know that's all I want to post. I mean, the world is reading. (or at least they could, if they wanted)
Not saying that those moments aren't worth blogging about, or even that we shouldn't blog about the wonderful moments in our lives. We definitely need to remember those moments. BUT....I am proposing that we form a little group...an
"Honest Blogger" group. I'm pretty sure that all of us, or at least 99% of us have struggles in our life. And I'm sure a lot of us could relate to one another. I know I would feel a little better knowing I am not the only ones with problems. So...maybe being a part of the "honest blogger" group means that it is definitely OK to post your problems too, or even pictures of your kids with boogers and jam all over there face, your messy house...etc etc.
Is anyone really creative?? We could even post a really cute "Honest Blogger" button on our blogs! But someone would have to design it!
Let me just share some "Honest Blogger" moments in my life right now:

**I feel like I will be renting for the REST of my life. Have you tried getting a loan lately....you only have to have a million dollars down..........

** There is NOT enough time in the day to get myself ready, and all my children, cook dinner (and all other meals) work out, eat the food I cook, do laundry, wipe my kids faces, mop my floor (I just did--but my crawling kids' feet are black), build a puppet show stage (i've been wanting to for a year), oh and did you know I have a husband....I'd love to hang out with you and take care of you too!

**I SOOOO wish music could play in the background of my life, I think it make life funner, more dramatic (in a good way), and would probably make me look cuter when I cry

**Lewis just had surgery, and I hate it. I'm so lucky it's just minor, but I hate it.

**I wish I could dance like Brittany on Glee, and have her body too.

**I'm choosing right now to be a little lazy...I swear in RS on Sunday they talked about not doing what I'm doing right now, that I could be spending my time a little better.

Just being an HONEST BLOGGER!
I challenge you to do the same! (we'll all feel better, and we'll all be better friends!)
I Love my life....so I'm going to go turn up my Dog DAYS are OVER song........and dance, cause I LOVE that song, and I LOVE my crazy life!

I love this idea Jaime! I totally agree! Don't worry we just tried to buy a place and we realized we'll probably be renting forever too!!

I love the idea, just not sure if I can come out of my "here's my perfect life world" denial that I'm in by blogging! I love your honesty and I think people like the honest blogs the best! Chin up! You are GORGEOUS! Who cares if your kids and house are a mess sometimes, everyone elses are too, we are just too afraid to admit it!

seriously! I totally think that is a great idea. We have had a couple bad days as of late and I wouldn't normally tell about them because I figure no one wants to hear complaining. But I am up for this! I wold love to feel a little more real :)

Amen to that...Maybe I don't write alot of my bad days because I think when Liv would get older and read them back she might feel bad about how many times she made me want to rip my hair out!

I totally agree with you. It is so easy to look at everyones perfect blog post and then start to wonder why your life isn't so perfect like their life is. I think blogging is great but it changes what we perceive real life is. Sometimes I want to type up the 'hard things' but I then talk myself out of it becuase I think 'no one else talks about their bad days I'll look whiny'. So hey if you've given me permission I'm going to be honest!!

Brenda....most likely anyone reading your blog knows you are the least bit whiny. And I can guarantee you whatever bad moments you want to blog about...someone can relate. And that is a great feeling. Also...I think it's therapeutic to write your feelings...good...OR bad! Life is not perfect....and EVERYONE knows that. I think I can learn more from everyones bad moments than their perfect ones anyways!!!!

Great post Jamie. I totally agree with you about everyone's seemingly perfect blogs, or perfect lives. I also feel fb can become very similar. That is why I was so hesitant to start a blog in the first place. I kept thinking how pathetic my life was to most of my friends.

I can say that a blog has helped me to look for the good and the positive in my life, even if it doesn't seem as perfect as other people I know.

I like Brenda feel like I complain enough and wanted to try to have a good place. I wish that I blogged more frequently because then I might be more "honest". I feel like if I only blog once a month I have to try to be positive?!!?

Anyway, I am up for the challenge, and want you to know I barely got dressed today before Chloe got on the bus at 12:45!! I have been late EVERYWHERE I have been in the past two months and that is no eggageration.

Thanks again I think we really can learn from all of our moments!! :)
